Gems With Attitude Fan Young Designer's Creative Flame
 A native Southern Californian, Elyssa began designing jewelry from the age of 5. She began her business in 1996 by making beaded eyeglass-chains for friends. Then a few belts incorporating freshwater pearls followed, and eventually lead her to discover the vast and mesmerizing universe of gemstones.
In February of 2001, ELYSSA B. DESIGN jewelry made its debut into the prestigious Barney's stores at the flagship Beverly Hills and Madison Avenue locations. Her work is also sold in many jewelry and specialty boutiques across the U.S. Her designs have graced the pages of all the top fashion magazines Elle, In Style, Marie Claire, Glamour, Cosmopolitan and more. It has recently been featured on television shows like Entertainment Tonight, VH1, Without a Trace and Sex and the City.
Today, the designer continues to draw inspiration from her everyday life. A walk through the neighborhood with her family, or the colors of autumn leaves often inspires the dynamic contemporary jewelry designs.
Her colored and textured pieces meant to be enjoyed every day, for any activity. ELYSSA B. forgoes traditional metal bezel settings, preferring instead to knot precious and semi-precious stones into vivid garlands. Tiered, multi-strand necklaces and bracelets are some of her signature looks, asserting once and for all the designer's belief that less is not, in fact, more. She uses daring contrasts, both in hue and in texture, to transform an ordinary gemstone into a piece of extraordinary jewelry. Her work pairs translucent, orange opals with densely-matrixed turquoise, or precisely faceted stones combined with organic, driftwood-like pieces of coral, giving her work an electrifying charge.
